It was yet another devasting defeat for Philly. McNabb was out and Feely attempted to step up again. Fans would agree, they wanted to see Feely instead of McNabb, but now I'm not so sure.

Although, I think McNabb is slacking due to injuries, Feely is still the back-up quarterback. I'm starting to realize that he is the back-up for a reason. Seamus Farrell, 30, who lives in Riverton, N.J, said McNabb is the best quarterback for the Eagles.

"He may not be at his best right now," said Farrell, "but afterall he is Donovon McNabb."

Feely does make great plays, but I don't think he thinks much about what he is doing. In the last two games the Eagles had the chance to win. Instead of running the ball, Feely tried to throw long passes and both times he was intercepted.

Here is the difference between McNabb and Feely. Feely wants to prove himself and try to make the biggest plays. McNabb has already established himself and he thinks more critically about each play.

Reid said, chances are McNabb will be playing against the Giants next week. Read more about it here...

Megan L. Feely?

A.J. Feely nearly beat the undefeated New England Patriots on Sunday. The final score was 31-28. Feely, the back-up quarterback, was filling in for McNabb, who was out due to thumb and ankle injuries. It was Feely, let me remind you, not McNabb, who almost led the Eagles to win possibly the biggest upset in NFL history.

After reading an article in the New York Times, I realized I am not the only one debating the issue. Here's the debate: Who should start next week against the Seahawks?

Head coach, Andy Reid, has already stated that if McNabb is back in full health, he will start the game. I admit, I do love McNabb, but after watching Feely this weekend, I am not so sure McNabb is the best for the job.

There is something about the Eagles these past two seasons that has raised some interesting questions. Why is it that every time McNabb is out and a back-up quarterback comes in, does the rest of the team seem to come alive? Is it a hate for McNabb or is the team simply working better together as a whole?

If we went back in time and rewound the game versus the Pats and started anew with McNabb in, I think things would have been different. Different in a bad way. I think our offense would not have scored as many points. Feely had three touch-down passes! He strategically used almost every player on the field!

Of course, there are contractual obligations and McNabb is signed as first-string quarterback-but, as a fellow fan, I question my faith in our starting quarterback. I think fans would agree.

We all will be scrutinizing his every move this Sunday.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://meggyj101.blogspot.com/2007/11/mcnabb-or-aj-feely.html' title='McNabb or A.J. I told myself that if we lost to Miami, I would crawl in a hole and stay there for the rest of the season. Although we won, the Eagles still did not look like an amazing team. The Cowboys are tearing up every team that comes their way, while we struggle to beat some of the worst teams in the NFL. I can't sit here and say I completely have lost faith in my team, but the rest of the season will be an uphill battle. We have to play both the Giants and the Cowboys again, not to mention the Patriots, the best team in the NFL. I think I might just not watch that game. It will be sad, very sad.

Megan L. Eagle’s victory. Redskin’s loss. Before this game, I felt like the season was over for Eagles fans everywhere. Surprisingly, it is not. Although, we still sit at the bottom of our division, we are two games out of the wildcard. Who would have known? If we win next week against Miami, we are right back in it. Getting a wildcard position is basically our only hope. The Cowboys are sitting nice and pretty with 8 wins and only one loss. But, hey at least this season isn’t completely hopeless. They looked like a dysfunctional team that day. McNabb continually was on the ground and the Cowboys steamrolled over the rest of the team. If there was any doubt about who the better team was, I think everyone now knows the answer. The Cowboys are in it to win it. After Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, signed his 64 million dollar contract, many fans knew he was going to try and prove his strength versus the Eagles. That is exactly what he did. The Romo and Terrell Owens combination reminds us all of how critical T.O. was to the Eagles team as a whole. Too bad he is a traitor and left to play with the most hated team in the entire NFL. I'm sorry but thats the consensus.

Megan L. McCarthy is 33 years old and lives in Rahway, New Jersey.

Megan L. They give out prizes, tickets, and Eagles gear. Fans can comment with each other on draft picks, trades, etc. One section is entirely for fans to post pictures of their tailgating vehicles including; remodeled buses, trucks, RV’s, emergency squad trucks and fire engines. It even provides a variety of tailgating music.

The site also gives information on upcoming Eagles events such as when a player will be signing autographs. Onecrazyfan.com works in conjunction with local Philadelphia TV and radio stations and community foundations.

700level.com has a staff of writers who post their own stories and information for site members. The Eagles barely scraped by with a win, yet fans took notice to a new theory. In order to win Donovan McNabb is not the answer.

Alison McAvoy, 22, is a first year transfer student at Towson University. She grew up in Wayne, P.A. and she is a hardcore Eagles Fan.

“I think it’s going to be a rocky season, full of ups and downs and lots of injuries,” says McAvoy. “And Andy Reid needs to stop relying on McNabb.”

Many fans, including myself, believe the emphasis should be on the running game. Westbrook is the star of the Eagles offense and Reid should certainly be aware of this.

George Vanhook’s parents grew up in the heart of Philadelphia, ultimately giving the green genes to George. Vanhook, 21, tries not to be critical of McNabb because he knows he is still healing from serious injuries.

“I think we will go 9-7,” says Vanhook, “and get a wildcard playoff spot.”

We can only hope.

Megan L. It is composed by multiple authors with different points of view. I like how the authors highlight the good and bad parts of a game for both teams, not just the Eagles.

The blog questions the validity of a coach’s decisions and provides their own opinions. I noticed that before each game there are multiple posts; predicting an outcome, summarizing injuries or pointing out interesting stats. This blog also links to other blogs that provide more information on a certain subject area for readers who want to learn more.

There is at least one photo or video with each post, which adds authority to the blog. Most of their images were courteous of gettyimages.com a site which offers members a database of valued and free photos. The Giants made us look horrible. Horrible is an understatement. They trampled over our defense and threw our offense to the ground. I mean this literally. Every time I crossed my fingers and prayed for McNabb to make a great play, two seconds later he was sprawled out on the field.

McNabb is obviously not going to have a stellar season. The Giants beat practically all there previous sack records playing the Eagles. If McNabb was not being steamrolled, he was dropping the ball. For the love of god-YOU ARE THE STAR QUARTERBACK!

It did not help having multiple players sitting out due to injuries. Brian Westbrook, Lito Sheppard and Brian Dawkins were all on the injury list for Sunday’s game. This definitely had a huge impact on the game. Westbrook is essential. I don’t know how bad his injury is or if the Eagles thought they would easily beat the Giants, but we needed him badly.

The team looked disoriented and played like they were in the Minor League of football. (If one existed) I don’t know about anyone else, but that was not NFL football material. Now here we are, on the bottom of our division. Things are not looking good. We have dug ourselves a giant hole, or maybe the Giants dug one for us, but either way this season will be a continuous uphill battle.

Megan L. That’s all I can say at the moment. Finally! For a moment there I was actually beginning to think that the Eagles season was over. Did anyone see the game I saw? It was unbelievable! The Eagles scored five touchdowns on their first five possessions. They had over 400 yards in only the first half!

This is what I, along with all other Eagles fans, have been waiting for. I don’t know if it was the throwback jerseys that won the game or if the Eagles players just wanted to shut everybody up. Either way, this in my eyes, is the turn around game of the season. From here on out, it is the Eagles time to shine.

Now all we need is for those Dallas cowgirls to stop winning.

Megan L. How pathetic did the Eagles look? I can remember last season, when no one gave the Redskins a second glance. They were the lowest team in the division, and now look at them. The Redskins and Cowboys are 2-0, while the Giants and Eagles are 0-2.
As a fan, I am completely disgusted. Words can not describe how awful I felt watching that game. I sat among both Eagles fans and Redskins fans to watch the game. What a mistake that was. I felt myself sinking lower and lower into my own self misery as the game ticked on with no win in sight. A true Eagles fan is both pessimistic and very obnoxious. You always think your team is going to lose, yet you talk all the smack you can. It is very important not to let anyone know that you are thinking, even for a second, that your team might lose.
Now, what to make of this Eagles season? McNabb does not look like he is in the best of shape, and our defense is definitely lacking. Eagles fans have been put through enough over the last few years. Between the whole T.O. controversy and McNabb's injuries, it has been a tough couple seasons for Eagles fans. Please don't make this the season where we sit back and watch are most hated teams (like the Cowboys) lead our division and make it to the playoffs.

Megan L. Green Bay Packers win. What happened to all the hype about a new season with a fresh McNabb?
There must be some reason for this awful outcome in the Eagles season opener. A botched punt in the very beginning of the game cost the Eagles their first win. They dominated the game and gained momentum after making it a 10-10 tie. Even with dropped passes and sketchy plays, I still had hopes they would make it out on top. Sadly, in the last minute of the game John Ryan failed to hold on to the ball in his attempts to make a fair catch. This allowed the Packers to have great field advantage and make a final field goal to win the game. It didn't help that McNabb and Westbrook, the usual dynamic duo, were a little off that day. Read what else led to their opening defeat...
And next week's Monday night game v.s. the Redskins isn't starting off well either due to the absence of star cornerback Lito Sheppard. I am not one of those people. For one, they only play the full starting team for about five minutes, if that. Secondly, it is simply a chance for coaches to try out different plays and see the dynamics of certian players working together. And last but not least...it is a PRE-season game. Pre- meaning before the season actually begins. It is just a fancy way of saying practice or scrimmage.
So let's see..the Eagles lost to the Baltimore Ravens 29-3 (which I actually attended sadly enough) and lost to the Pittsburg Steelers 27-13. Look on the bright side we did win against the Carolina Panthers 27-10. But what does all this mean? Absolutely nothing. With one more game before the actual season starts things are off to a bumpy start with the Eagles. Advantage-McNabb is back in action. (Although every non Eagles fan and even some fans think he will ultimately get hurt) Disadvantage-Trotter is off the team. (Some say this doesn't matter, but I think it was a mistake)
So only time will tell how the Eagles season will turn out, but as a true bleeder of green...I have all the faith in the world.
See how the Philadelphia Inquirer breaks down the 2007 team..

Megan L.
